This all happened after a security update and a quicktime update occurred today. Could that be part of it?

I have the same problem. OS X 10.3.9 (don't laugh) Adium 1.0.2 and the newest beta using the basic message display, bright blue theme With the crashes of 1.0.2, Adium crash manager would take my information, but could not send the info to Adium. With the beta, the OS X crash handler takes over, but ...
