Zaudragon, do you have Service Icons turned on in your contact list preferences? I didn't, but when I turned it on, I got double service icons for my friends without buddy icons (all two of them).

Yes, I realized that what I said was redundant, since I had confused Adium.plist with AdiumX.plist…

Adium will take over on next launch tho. That's why I think a preferences option for default IM client (like Safari's preferences option for default web browser) should be added to Adium, and the other chat clients for that matter. It's too much to ask users to know that they need to download More ...

pretty much with .8, if i dont put the growl plugin into Adium, i get no notifications Me too. I just double clicked the growl plugin to have it copied into ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Plugins to get around this problem. Say, is it kosher for us to talk about problems with svn.8 yet? Or...

This has been discussed before. I forget exactly what the final outcome was though… Feel free to search the forums. My suggestion was that this should be kept as the default behavior, but a checkbox should be added to the preferences to turn this off by service.

Request: fade timing control

I'm using a SVN version of .6, and it's pretty good. I think it will be nice, once you get it finished. One question, any plan for a time to fade preference? For somethings, like iTunes notifications, you may want your bezel to fade out in 3 seconds, so you have time to read it and look at the album...

I disagree. Many people have excessively long profiles, that only change infrequently. There's no need to see these things every time you mouse over their name. Furthermore, any links in the profile would be unclickable, so to get the most of the profile, you'd have to open up the get info panel any...

I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about.

You can set the contact list window's width in the Preferences -> Contact List -> Edit (on the list layout side) -> Width.

Smart groups are definitely an interesting idea for .9 or beyond, but there are still issues with the UI, never mind the backend. Smart playlists work in iTunes because you have a central "library" from which individual tracks are moved into an indefinite number of particular playlists. To...

UI Suggestion/Bug reports

The "Contact list" option under the "Window" menu should say "Open contact list" or "Close contact list" depending on whether the contact window is open or not since the option is a toggle. I use the borderless window option, so when I'm disconnected there's n...

Am I correct in my understanding that you're requesting that there be another option for the buddy list in addition to 'hide when Adium is in the background'. You want Adium's buddy list to be hidden when Adium is in the background unless there's an open chat window, right? To be honest, I'm not ent...

The font panel strikethrough works now? (Runs and tests it… Comes back.) Wow! That's what I asked for last time, but it seemed like none of the developers were interested in implementing it. I guess someone must have done it later without making a fuss about it. Cool. On the other topic: All the Moz...

I don't think so. I requested strikethrough a long while ago, but I don't think anything ever came of it. Before that, back during the first incarnation of Adium (in 2002, when dinosaurs roamed the earth), I actually went so far as to download the source code to take out the bracket stripping, so I ...

Suggestion: Scheduling away messages

Is there someway (perhaps using Applescript?) that we could have Adium institute 'away message scheduling'? I take my laptop to work from 8:30 to 4:30 everyday during the week, so it would be nice if Adium could automatically go away with a work appropriate away message (even better would be randoml...
