OK my Mail.app is now royally screwed up. I uninstalled Growl and the Growl Mail plug-in, but Mail.app still crashes each time I start it. Can someone help me resolve this please an perhaps make the incompatibility of the Growl Mail plug-in with Leopard a little more evident for future users. If ne...

Well... you could run an AppleScript to activate Mail before asking it to open a message, but the performance may be sub-optimal and this hard-codes an expectation into the software.

If people realise that Growl (or some misbehaving component) is screwing up their systems, they'll remove it and it will never return. You do realize this is hyperbole, correct? Growl itself works perfectly fine and the worst aspects of our incompatibility are that growlnotify drops sending message...

Basically you are arguing for us to take into account the fact that people make assumptions, which they shouldn't (in life or with software.) If we write release notes to cover every assumption that can be made it would be an exercise in futility.

- Not really, 64 bit is meant for those who need to address large data sets in memory and hit limitations in the 32 bit address space. If you haven't yet, this doesn't concern you. - Only insofar as people buy into buzzwords. It's primarily used in scientific applications and production style appli...

We really just need to change how display plugins work in general. I wonder if we can get growlhelperapp to "ask" the display what it supports and then show the relevant controls. Overkill I think for all display plugins. Each specifies their own preference pane in Display Options, so the...

That documentation is really old and needs to be updated. Status Item is the menu item, logging has been removed currently, and idle is still in the General tab.

You'll know this has been fixed when the status on the compatibility page changes or the release notes for a new version indicate it.

You are correct, it's a bug in Crystal. Webkit styles seemingly determine which elements actually respond when opacity changes and in the case of Crystal it looks like nothing is changing.

Have you tried GrowlMail in 1.1.2? It has the following fix: "in Summary mode, post one notification (per account) after *all* messages come in."

Software Update doesn't inform you of Xcode updates. These are distributed through the Apple Developer Connection website.

Did you exercise the entire Carbon framework in 64 bit to confirm that every aspect works (not just whatever parts you use)? That's what will get the patch accepted. Unnecessary changes shouldn't be included, and it's handier if you actually submit it as a text file diff to the mailing list instead ...

Try uninstalling, clearing your downloads & caches, and then re-downloading and installing. If it still persists we can start debugging from there. 1.1.2's had a rough day today :(

That should probably be made more clear in the release notes; I thought GrowlMail was fixed in this build, too. It doesn't specify Leopard compatibility, but it doesn't specify Leopard incompatibility either. :) Actually, it is clear. The release notes state what exactly changed. The sticky thread ...

When I updated the build to fix the wrongly selected tab I also fixed the localizations having the wrong version. Thank you for noting this. The next version of Growl will resolve the occurrence of this problem.

In IB2 when you select a tab view item IB's inspector has a stepper that allows you to easily navigate between tabs. In IB3 this stepper is gone (at least so far as I can tell) and you'll need to use the nib browser (I prefer in column mode) to drill down into the tab view and then click on the item...

Yeah, that's what I figured so I checked the source out, modified the nib myself, and then rebuilt 1.1.2 using the build script in the Release directory for myself. For personal use you don't need to use the makefile in the Release directory, that's for building the dmgs. You only need to open the ...

It's technically a bug in Growl. When an application re-registers it's set of notifications it causes Growl to lose the user's settings. We are aware of it but I don't have a specific answer as to when it will be fixed.
