Fixed in 1.1.3, notifications appear in all spaces.

Re: Applications remove

How would a notification of registration have any effect on the removal situation? It was redundant since registration should be seamless and invisible.

Re: Growl fills screen (kind of a DoS)

Outside of examples where large datasets are pulled and the sender doesn't filter or coalesce (like Mail, or iStumbler) how often do you find yourself overwhelmed with screens of notifications? I'd wager this is a fairly rare condition and it seems odd to expose such an advanced preference. That's j...

Re: Growl fills screen (kind of a DoS)

This should be handled in the application that posts the notifications instead of in Growl since they are deluging the system. You can hold the option key down while clicking the close button on a notification to close all of them at once.

It's also _not_ a DoS :)

Re: Development in trouble?

To be technical, Chris isn't the lead developer he's the project lead/manager. It's also not worth it to speculate on what his personal decision will be, nor what impact it will on an open project.

Re: Applications remove

I imagine (but haven't verified) this occurs because the removal does what it says, but applications register automatically when launched and it's not suppressed. There probably needs to be a bit more logic there to ask if you want to reset (remove all current settings) or deny (block from registeri...

tommac,

You already started a thread for your issue, don't bump other ones to garner a response.

Re: Growl Notifications Visible Above Screensavers/Visualizers?

I just discovered Growl and would also be interested in above-screensaver notifications. Perhaps there's a workaround possible? What would be involved in creating a Growl screensaver that simply displays a screensaver of the user's choice but has the ability to overlay notifications? Notifications ...

Re: Growl not working (no logitech)

I'm having the same issue under Leopard (10.5.2). Growl doesn't seem to be working for any of the applications listed in preferences. I have restarted the service several times but nothing seems to be happening. Problem apps include: Adium, Thunderbird, Skype and Plaxo. I believe I read somewhere t...

I find this interesting as no changes have been made to networking in 1.1+ to my knowledge.

Providing the names of styles that work and don't work would be useful, as well as what version of Growl you are using.

Do they actually use Growl? I seem to recall they were rolling their own, but I could be wrong.

Did you follow Adium's instructions (I don't have a link handy) for setting up Growl notifications again in that app?

Niiiiiiiiiiiiice. Fixed my issue. FWIW, I had seen this tip in other places on the net, but I assumed that b/c this GrowlMail beta addressed Leopard Mail.app problems that I shouldn't do it. Maybe this should be incorporated into the documentation somewhere. Thanks. Or it could 'just work' instead ;)

Unless I'm misreading, it seems like you answered your own question :) You can write a custom Growl plugin, choose that display plugin as the style for the apps you want notified from, and then be done. The plugin is the guts of what you want, and would likely be a variant of the Speech/MailMe plugi...

There's an automatic update check in the About tab that would alert you when you opened the pref pane if there were a new version.

You'd likely need to scrape a site like ESPN, MLB, or whatever sport/team you want to follow. It'd be incredibly fragile unless there's an API. You'd have to do research into whatever your desired goal is, as with any project :)
