can't use verdana... it is stuck on some random blue font!

i was wondering that myself, i could have swarn that back in the day you could.... hem

i have tried everything from using default formatting to clearing out my library and having it rebuild it, and nothing seems to work. i have .82 and my font is set to size 10 verdana, it will show up like this on my screen w/in adium but on any other computer it shows up as 12 helvetica or whatever ...

the aliases are not the same..

thats the first thing i thought, but that other screen name isn't in my address book.. i even can delete the second screen name, form a totally new group, add the screen name once more TO that group, and it ignores this new group and just forms a meta under the "me" group with my powerbook...

i have a dual g5 running 10.4.2 and a 17 inch powerbook (g4, obviously).. everything is the same between the two machines.. except for one thing: i can't run adium on the g5 for whatever reason it crashes 5 times a day. same prefs/version/etc. the g4 is fine the g5 crashes the hell out of it.. weird...

for a while now i haven't been able to take control over the font size or type i use in my messages.. i have been able to finally take control over the font in my profile with the .81 to .82 change, but i still can't switch it in my messsages. i have tried clearing out the prefs (trashing use prefs)...

switched to the beta and i haven't had any problems yet.. so im keeping my fingers crossed.. it looks amazing! i can't wait until it is out of beta stage.. keep up the amazing work!

and now adium crashes 10 times a day.. it was rock solid on the quicksilver.. i don't get it, the only thing i can think of is that i only have 512 megs of ram on the g5.. another gig is in the mail so we shall see if that has any effect.. the 733 had a gig.. it is quite annoying! and the thing that...
