OK ... after a bit of testing ... I think I have a (crude) solution. Apparently, after installing Growl and the mail notification extra, you need to go into Thunderbird and do the following: 1. Configure the properties of the extension, 2. Test, make sure it is working, 3. Disable it, 4. Restart Thu...

No other similar extension. Only have Enigmail installed.

Any suggestions?
