Not getting it anymore either.

It is possible to go invisible, but of course only for the protocols that support it. But Adium so far, has no way of adding/removing invisible people to a list, but AFAIK it should honor whatever lists you've made in the official programs.

Currently Adium uses Growl to send messages to the NC, so you need to activate it.

I haven't seen the bug for a few days now, so hopefully it is gone now.

Those are metacontacts. You are supposed to use metacontacts for when of your contacts has multiple IM accounts, so you don't have to think about writing to him/her on a specific account, since Adium always chooses an online one for you. You can set it to hide, when Adium is in the background, in the preferences under Advanced.

Preferences --> Accounts --> Remove the √ in the box on the left, next to the account(s).

But Facebook shouldn't ask your permission each time Adium starts.. You should only have to do it the first time you connect with it I believe.

Adium does not support MPOP.

How stable is it by now?

Adium has one flaw, that doesn't suit Apple. It is too complex, in the form of styling and Apple likes simplicity (Too much in many cases).

If you encrypt the conversation, yes. You can do that under the Contact menu.

You could just use Bonjour instead - It automatically finds other people using it on the network.
