ooh i'd love to have this feature. us laptop users on 12" screens have too many windows to juggle. i keep my contact list pretty narrow and floating it would be even better. Umm... you can already float the CL, I believe. The requested/probablytocome thing was floating the message window. (Pre...

What if metacontacts behave like spring-loaded folders - if you drag one contact over another, and hold it there for a second, something happens to let you know it'll become meta (plus sign appears, probably). Another idea (instead of or in addition to) is that you could put 'make meta' in the conte...

Is it possible to make an event (like, when xyz signs on, do X) apply to a whole metacontact, and not just one screen name?

I forget I'm away without that window now. It was really helpful before. Yep, me too. ... I'll make a mockup later if needed, but how about something with tabs (across the top(?), for each account), and then just the usual window for the away-ness part? /goes to turn SMV on as webkit is damn slow o...

Is it possible to "mute while away" in .8 (at this point), or should I just keep Sounds.plist's <key>Mute Sounds Temporarily</key> handy?

Edit: Actually, that doesn't seem to do anything... but my original question stands, since changing the volume crashes .8svn for me.

I ran into the exact same problem, and after clicking 'check' crashed SysPrefs, and I reopened them, everything seems fine.

If anyone's interested, I was rummaging around a while back and found a couple reasonable-looking vi introductions: from FSU, ISR, Linux User's Group (including an ed tutorial), and a reference sheet taken from the book with the funny animal (lemur?) on the front.

You (either of you - for using or modding) might want to check out some of these... my textonly view, Huw Rowland's justtext mod of that, mathuaerknedam's ultra-ultraminimalist Tül, and aNon from the same author (slightly less minimalistic).

To make something in Adium get parsed as LaTeX, put it inside double-dollar-signs: $$LaTeX$$ This requires that you have Equation Service installed: http://www.esm.psu.edu/mac-tex/EquationService/ . Also, note that once something has been parsed in the Adium message window, you can click on it to ma...

cmd-ctl-shift-4 + paste != icon?

I noticed that if you copy a (selection-based) screen shot to the clipboard (cmd-ctl-shift-4), and then try to paste into the user icon changer in Adium, it doesn't work. I vaguely recall that said icon-manager is from iChat (maybe...?), where procedure does work, so I'm not sure if this is a reques...

The source /is/ released; that's one of the many things that makes Adium great.
