Re: Uninstalling growlsafari
I'm trying to uninstall growlsafari. There is no growlsafari folder in /Library/InputManagers. What version are you trying to uninstall? When I disable or remove growlsafari from the Growl preference pane it returns after Safari is restarted. I found a file called "GrowlSafari.growlTicket"...

Re: Mercury messenger
I've deleted from growl application panel the "mercury messenger support". No, you have not. You deleted the record of Mercury's registration. Growl does not support applications; applications support Growl. If you want Mercury to post notifications again, you need to get it to register a...

You still have an old version of GrowlMail installed. Run the “Uninstall GrowlMail” application, then install the new version.

Re: GrowlMail 1.2b4 minor issue
When installing GrowlMail 1.2b4, it has a selection to install GrowlMail for all users of the computer … This is an implementation detail. … but when I pick this option, it still only puts the GrowlMail bundle into the "~/User/Library/Mail/Bundles" folder instead of "/Library/Mail/Bu...

Re: multiple growlmail notifications
Two possible causes: Make sure you don't have multiple copies of GrowlMail installed. Run the “Uninstall GrowlMail” application on the Growl 1.2b3 disk image, then reinstall GrowlMail. If you're using IMAP, this problem happens when “the same” message appears in multiple folders, as Mail sees them/t...

Re: Firefox window opens behind other windows - Mac OS 10.6
We don't know what causes this. It's not a Growl bug. It may be a bug in the Growl framework (which Firefox uses code from), but we're not sure about that, either, especially since the problem is intermittent.

Re: GrowlHelperApp.app and Firewall
In the Finder (not the Open panel), right-click on Growl.prefPane, then choose “Show Package Contents”. Open the Contents folder, then the Resources folder. GrowlHelperApp is in there. Drag it into the Open panel.

Re: hey dawg, when you going to fix your memory leaks?
Interesting. I'm actually not sure how strings like those can make it into GrowlHelperApp. What iTunes-notifier application are you using? If you can kill GrowlHelperApp and then run it with MallocStackLogging turned on, that may help even more, as it would reveal where in GHA those objects are bein...

Re: Applescript to activate growl notification
Growl cannot be activated or deactivated by an AppleScript script. This is on purpose.
If you mean you want a script to make iChat post Growl notifications, that probably isn't possible. Try Chax instead.

Re: hey dawg, when you going to fix your memory leaks?
Stepping through the debugger would be a really slow way to find leaks.
The output you get from heap or leaks in the terminal would be much more helpful.

Please take a sample of Installer while it is hung. You can do this by selecting the hung Installer process in the Activity Monitor and clicking “Sample Process” in the toolbar.

Re: Google Voice Mail Fluid App and Growl 1.2b3
I doubt Growl has anything to do with it, since the Dock icon badge is entirely provided by Fluid's application template. The Growl framework doesn't provide such a feature, and Growl itself, being just an application and prefpane, can't touch any other application's Dock icon. You should contact Fl...

At least until someone creates a display that does what you really want. ☺VNDL wrote:I guess I have to cope with the "Music Video" style then.
Only if it's a WebKit-based (HTML+CSS) display, which MusicVideo isn't.Is there a way to get rid of the icons in a style?

Re: RSS reader /w feed content Growl display?
Also is there a Growl style that scrolls the notification horizontally? I set up the "Music Video" style right now, it's cool to have this type of Growl display while watching videos in Plex, but I'd love to have this scrolling breaking news type of display. That would be cool. Unfortunat...

Re: Can't Install GrowlMail on 2 Different Accounts
Strange, but never an issue before 10.6.1. Not quite accurate. It was never an issue before 1.2b3, wherein I changed the way the GrowlMail Installer package works to solve some other problems. As a workaround, delete that folder while logged in as jb. You should then be able to install on your othe...

Re: Faster Growl Messages in 1.2 beta are great, but...
Obviously something made you change the speed of the messages. Doubtless its made many unhappy because it's just not right to them. So far, you're the first to complain. That's a big difference from the longer fade time of old, which attracted quite a few complaints (over a long period of time). Ev...

Re: Faster Growl Messages in 1.2 beta are great, but...
I know, the devs like to pretend stuff never happened. Er? I had to screen cap the behavior in order to prove it last time. How exactly do you take a screenshot of the lack of an animation? ☺ But, yes, .76 did pop in and fade out on some of the styles. If that's true, it was a bug, as I remember al...
