No and no. Try uninstalling Growl and reinstalling it.

Re: Notification location & style...
I was using 1.1.6 and had Growl notification set up in the center of the lower half of the screen. The style looked much like the Command-Tab "window". Like Bezel? If that's not it, try going back to 1.1.6. You may find that it is a third-party display, in which case, the developer will n...

Re: Growl on Snow Leopard
Yeah, I just installed 1.2b2, and still GrowlMail will not work. It does show up on the Preferences panel (which previously didn't), however you still get the error message when you start Mail, telling you GrowlMail has been deactivated. You have an old GrowlMail installed. Check both of these fold...

Re: Growl on Snow Leopard
1.2 beta 2 only installed properly for me when installed with Pacifist, the normal .pkg wouldn't run properly, it kept complaining "The application does not exist". I used to have that problem before I put the betas together, but fixed it. It still doesn't happen for me. Please open the I...

Re: Growl on Snow Leopard
I've written an AppleScript that should provide the functionality of GrowlMail until Growl and GrowlMail are 64-bit. Enjoy! UPDATE: Peter Hosey says the new 64-bit version of Growl (1.2) could be coming out for Snow Leopard as soon as today (Sep. 3, 2009)! – Growl Discuss Not exactly. Growl 1.2 bet...

The way to contact us is to either post here or email the Growl discussion list.Anna Brooks wrote:Can anybody tell me the e-mail of growl.info staff?
If you have a security vulnerability to report, tell us so, and we can go from there.

Yes. GrowlHelperApp is the background application that receives and displays notifications.

Re: How can I get growl.framework
Two solutions: Either download the 1.2b1 pre-beta build of the framework, or wait for the real 1.2b1, which is coming RSN (or 1.2, which I hope will not be long after that).Wooden Brain Concepts wrote:Code: Select all

Re: Growl not running correctly, please help.
Growl preference pane asks me to restart System Preference in 32bit mode whenever I use it … Actually, that's System Preferences asking you that question, because a 64-bit process cannot load a 32-bit-only plug-in (such as a prefpane). The Growl prefpane isn't even loaded yet, so it can't ask the q...

Re: Notification script for Mail.app available
No offense to the Growl team, but that Mail plug-in has been sporadically wacky (for me) and always seems to break when someone in Cupertino just glances in its direction. It used to be much more fragile, but has been quite robust for several versions now. If anything changes in a Mail internal API...

Re: Notification script for Mail.app available
I agree GrowlMail is be better than this (I'll be using it once it comes out of pre-beta), but it has not been working for quite a while … Hence the pre-beta, which *is* working (so I hear—I haven't fired up Mail under Snow Leopard yet, but it's working for Rudy and others). (I believe it was actua...

Re: Hardware Growler trouble...
I didn't install HardwareGrowler when I first installed Growl, so re-downloaded the dmg to get HardwareGrowler. They must match versions though if Growl is the latest right? Yes, the HardwareGrowler on the Growl 1.1.6 disk image is also 1.1.6. We keep the version numbers synchronized. All other app...

Re: Firefox .growlRegDict
I was able to reproduce this with MarsEdit. While investigating the problem, I replaced MarsEdit's Growl.framework (which is really old—version 0.7.6) with version 1.1.6, from the SDK on our website. Problem solved. So, we still don't know what really causes it, but we do know that it does not affec...
