Whoa, that's awesome. (Not the first time they've reacted to GrowlMail breakage, either.) Thanks for the link.

You need to install GrowlMail.

Re: Weird Blue Lines Left After Notifications

• Try uninstalling Growl and downloading/installing a fresh copy. • Try repairing permissions with Disk Utility. These two are voodoo and there are not many cases in which they would help. Especially repairing permissions, which only affects Apple software (it doesn't touch the permissions of files...

Re: Mail disruption with Growl

After using successfully growlmail 1.1.4 with 10.5.6 for months, it seems that Mail.app started to crash today, just after installing the Safari 4 beta available on http://www.apple.com. Same here, but the problem is that I first turned off growl and then uninstalled it at all, but error still occu...

Re: Safari 4 Beta broke GrowlMail

Weird problem just wanted to make everyone aware of. Just installed the hot-off-the-presses Safari 4 beta. Mail opened, but then froze a few seconds after, and the error dialog box blamed GrowlMail. Yup. Workarounds in my blog post: http://boredzo.org/blog/archives/2009-02-24/safari-4-beta-and-grow...

There's no “within the uninstaller”. It's an AppleScript.

And when we rewrite the uninstaller in pure Cocoa, we shouldn't add the link there either. We should make it just work.

Re: I just want to remove growlmail :-(

… how do I remove GrowlMail? Take it out of the Bundles folder and put it in the Trash. Quit Mail, if it's running. Finally, empty the Trash. Does Google+Growl work for Mail? No; it's completely separate from Mail. It integrates with the Google Notifier (as opposed to GrowlMail, which integrates wi...

Re: I just want to remove growlmail :-(

I want two things: 1) a transient message box in the upper right corner of the screen that displays new messages for a few seconds when they arrive, and 2) a persistent icon in menu bar showing how many unread messages I have in my inbox. BTW, there's an app called Google+Growl that will do this an...

Re: growlnotify: option --image not working in v1.1.3

I understand this problem is difficult to reproduce because it is intermittent, but please give it a little more credence. I give bugs credence once I know that they exist in the current version. Many people update Growl but forget to update the extras, so it's plausible that you were both still ru...

It looks like Leopard has caused similar problems with growlnotify for a few versions--is there a robust fix/work-around? Yup, growlnotify hasn't been reliable for me in a very long time. What is wrong with the -m switch? Nothing. It's working fine. Growlnotify is not working here anymore using 10.5.4. What version of growlnotify? (growlnotify --version) What message do you dislay whithout the -m switch? None. That's what causes the confusion: People don't realize that growlnotify i...

Re: growlnotify not responding

OK no worries, I wasn't using the -m switch, it's my own stupid fault. Ah, OK. I went ahead and added a prompt message in r4905 (just now), to avoid future confusion of this sort. % build/Development/growlnotify foo Enter a notification description, followed by newline, followed by Ctrl-D (E...
