Do you think there's a way to rewrite the message box so it's attributes are no longer a window but that similar of the contact list?

Is it possible to have a semi-transparent Message/Chat Window, similar to Contact List styles which involve opacity? I think it would be cool if you could see through your Message Box. I have tried playing around with existing styles or creating my own, but I am no programmer and have no idea how to...
