I'm using 10.4.10.

I downloaded AppZapper and ran it. Cleared out everything with Adium. I try to install Adium, and no dice. I still recieve errors on the install.

However, I can still drag the old version, that one that works on my computer from the trash to the App folder w/o problems.

Have you repaired permissions? I would delete all traces of Adium.app before you install a new version of Adium. If you can't remove it, I would try running an rm -rf on it...
