Yes! I found this (after your post about Core Image being the problem) and it worked.

Just disabled "Show Adium status in menu bar" in the General preferences...

Adium crashes when connecting to AIM
Trying to be able to use Adium again. Since version 1.06 (I think) Adium crashes whenever I try to connect to AIM. I'm on OS X 10.4.11 / 4 x 2.5 Ghz PowerPC G5. It does the same thing to my co-worker who has the same OS/computer. Anyone know how I can get this working? Thanks. Here's the Adium.crash...
