I have OS X 10.4.11, and my display style is smooth operator. How do I see what version of growl I have? I can't find it

I'm having trouble with my Growl. I only use it for received message notifications. It worked great and then suddenly started only half showing-up, so when a growl message is displayed, I can see the sender and his/her icon, but I can't see any of the text.
