Is there a way to post an instant message to a group?

In other words, send one message to a group that you've created. I searched the forums, but couldn't find anything.

Well, here's hoping that we're not alone and that some benign developer will write it for us.

I like to use the IM method of posting to Twitter. However, due to the 140 character cap, I'd love to be able to see long my entry is before I hit the submit button.

Does anyone know of a plugin or applescript that would do this in AdiumX?
