In order to troubleshoot this, downloaded the current Adium debug build: http://adiumx.cachefly.net/Adium_1.3.1svn20080826.dmg and run it (straight from the disk image). Lo and behold! It connected to MSN without an authentication failure. Even more weird, when I afterwards started the original 1.3...

Good question. My account address contains an underscore "_" as well. Hmm. That seems weird, but I guess it is possible. The address worked with the previous version.

I am having the same issue. Tried new pref files, tried recreating the account. No luck. Any ideas why this suddenly quit working after the upgrade?
