Adium does not support this... it's not something I would expect to see in a future version, either.

Question: Do you have the full address (including the @hotmail.com) listed in as the name on the MSN account preferences, or just the before-@hotmail.com-part?

Your installed xtras aren't actually within the Adium package. They are stored separately, in ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0.
