Not really, because technically we -can- accept DirectIMs and the server knows it... IIRC we would need to also disable AIM file transfer.

You do have to put with me rambling to read it (*grin*), but drunk of DrunkenBlog interviewed me a while back about Adium stuff.

http://www.fourx.org/images/emd-open-conversations.jpg Think we need to have the account connect/disconnect stuff all in the main part of the menu? With my 19 accounts, I end up with a list of a decent number of chats taking the menu well over half the screen; it'd be easy to get it to the point of...

It goes through each character, assigning the current character to whatever the table map says that character should be. Without the ch++; it continuously reassigned the first character to whatever the current character should be :)

Just to clarify, a simple statement of "Adium is using lots of CPU" can not possibly lead to any resolution whatsoever. We need hard data, as we do not see this behavior locally or we would have already fixed it :)

While it is happening, you can capture sample data and send it to us (bugs@adiumx.com) so we can track down the problem.

The Activity Monitor program, available in Applications/Utilities, lets you select the Adium process and choose Sample from the Process menu.

Talking about Adium, right? :)

Adium doesn't support serverside wallpaper in any form... perhaps you set your Adium wallpaper locally, in the Messages preferences?

Oh? Really? I haven't dug into this yet. If it is, well, that's fantastic I think Evan mentioned something like that when we talked about it. Yup, the code that powers the metaContact Get Info drawer acutually makes this quite possible... in that context there's a separate contact list with its roo...

Addendum to Brian's comment: We've set it up to rely upon the file's name data over the modification date when the two are mismatched... so doing this perfectly isn't possible but I think that the way it's handled in the next release will be a lot closer to optimal :)

Here's a similar bug, but it might be unrelated. Open a dialog box in iTunes, such as the tag editor. Then send a message like /music or %_track or any other AppleScript that interacts with iTunes. The message doesn't get sent, and neither do any subsequent messages, and incoming messages don't get...

Make sure your target settings are the same as other targets. One particular setting that might matter is that the prefix header needs to be Adium.pch.

If latest SVN doesn't fix it for you, then there's still something wrong.

Unknown conversation error, eh? Does the debug window show anything more enlightening?

I can't imagine wanting that window.. if it weren't an instant messaging expectation I would make it hidden by default. I know when I'm away!

In any case, it seems like it would be reasonable for a state status window to have a "change status" button to the lef to a "return" button or whatever.

Yeah, it's a really obnoxious OS X bug which has been reported but unfixed. iChat's way of handling the font may be better for someone who switches between Japanese and English consistently, but overall it's really annoying - if you set your font for a conversation, you probably don't want to have t...
