I don't think spotlight would provide a replacement for the log viewer.. but it could be leveraged to nicely enhance its search capabilities I would imagine.

To be honest, i'm not sure we could tell you class/instance subscriptions are the multiuser chats, right? Try the File->Join Group Chat... menu option and see if that lets you use them. Nobody on the dev team uses zephyr... so really to see improvements zephyr users will need to send in patches.

Several significant MSN protocol problems are fixed in the latest source (and therefore in the next, unreleased version). Hopefully this will be resolved.

Correct. We use OS X's built-in animation support, which was new in 10.3.
