I've had my eye on #173 since the day it was filed. When ChatKit was still alive, the idea as I understood it was to implement iChat's always-alive functionality with a backend daemon.
Now that ChatKit is dead, what is the viability for still implementing a standalone EMD and/or resolving #173?

Only if someone writes the code. Any volunteers? Is libezv an Adium library, or sourced from somewhere else? It seems as though Bonjour support has been pretty well abandoned, for the short term at least, seeing as how #177 hasn't seen any attention in a while. I do understand, though, that the dev...

Do I assume we're talking about #173, and thus post-1.0? Can you comment on how it's going to be done (as a menu extra, that is)?The_Tick wrote:That said, it is planned for the future.

Bug #500 - contacts in multiple groups - any progress?
Trac Item #500 discusses a shortcoming in AdiumX, namely that contacts cannot belong to more than one group. While not a major bug, it would be a good feature to support. The last developer posting on it was back in July, when it was being given "further thoughts." I'd like to see this bug...

If all your sametime users are in groups that the other protocols are not, you could just add events per group instead of globally. Fantastic; that did the trick. I didn't even realize until now that it was possible to set events per group instead of globally. Once again, AdiumX proves its worth. T...

Supress Growl notifications by protocol?
Is there a way to supress Growl notification by protocol? It would be nice at work in a large Sametime environment to not have Growl notify about users coming and going in Sametime while still showing it for other protocols. I realize it's probably not possible but... could it be hacked?

Re: installing menubar icons
Eventually they'll be real xtras when somebody does it, and probably when the EMD becomes a real menu item a la iChat. The AdiumX devs have said that they won't do EMD as a "real" menu item. That particular part of the API isn't open; there's a Haxie to make it work, but the AdiumX devs h...

Location-aware Adium?
I use my PowerBook both at home and at work; at work, I connect to a Lotus Sametime server with Meanwhile, but at home I don't have the Sametime server. Getting Sametime errors everytime I open/close my PowerBook at home is annoying. Is there any way via AppleScript or some other means to make Adium...

I assume the idea is iChat-style functionality, where you can still be signed in without the actual app open? I love that feature, but I know it's a route you can't and don't want to go down. The idea here is the correct one: to mimic iChat functionality to where it is not necessary to have the GUI...

AdiumX as a background process
Is there a way, or could a future version of AdiumX include the option to run AdiumX as a background or invisible process, removing it from the list of applications that show up when Cmd-Tab is pressed? It's quite annoying to accidentally switch into the IM client when I have 5 or 6 other applicatio...
