But it seems to me that when I try to import (to my iMovie) the movie selection from my video camera (having been converted from mpeg4 to AVI through Perian) are ghosted? So based on that, I assume that iMovie doesn’t recognize the container AVI... And thought that maybe Perian would have the abilit...

I guess the big question around here is - can Perian bypass my Quick Time Pro and take my cameras codex of mpeg4 and turn it into mp4 so that my iMovie can use it?
