Could it be because of a message style that he is using? Maybe it's crashing because it's failing to load the style when the first message is sent.

What Jabber server are you trying to register with?

IIRC, Adium will only register with jabber.org (...and one other one, can't remember what it is).

Regardless, Jabber registration is buggy in Adium, so you can use Psi to register your Jabber account, and then log in with Adium. http://psi-im.org

File transfer works for me with joscar in Adium 1.0

It *might* possibly be tcsh, and those commands are for bash, which is why the command might not be found.

BTW, for those saying it takes too long to compile, it only takes that much for a clean build. Updating the source and compiling takes about 1.5 mins on my 1.5 GHz Powerbook

IIRC Skype is a closed source protocol and someone would need to reverse engineer it to work with their service. This would need to occur in libgaim or in another open-source library that Adium could use to enable this functionality. There's an API, but it sucks hard core for anyone besides skype t...

Wengero is right, Right-click on the Adium application in your Applications folder, and you will see the contents folder

I think chat bubbles is one of the default styles

In the current release version of Adium (.89.1) there is no difference in the menu bar icon when you are available/away/etc.

In Adium 1.0, the manu bar icon will show a difference between each status state.
