i got the binary from the growl downloads page, put it in /usr/local/bin, and tried executing in terminal with both "macyac" and "macyac -p 10629" to no avail. checked the activity monitor and it's running, but if i send a test call (or a real call for that matter) from the yac s...

Can you turn off the norton security stuff, and check if the xp firewall is running, if you have windows xp.
I've tried disabling norton and the xp firewall is off :/[/quote]

they're on the same network, yeah. basically, same router- my pc is wired and my powerbook is wireless, both on static ips. the only reason i was trying to port forward was because i couldn't get macyac to work. i admit i don't know much about that, but it's worked for me before when i had issues. d...

well that blows, i'd really like to get caller id growl notifications. yac works fine on my pc (it has the modem and caller id) and it appears that macyac is listening to the right port, so it might be that my firewall is still blocking the port, even though i tried forwarding it. it was worth a sho...

can someone please help me set macyac up? i have the server running (and working) on my pc, i tried forwarding the default port (10629) on my router/firewall but i don't get any growl notifications. it's not showing up as a registered app, so i think that's the problem but i can't figure out how to ...
