i "solved" ^^ my .srt problem. *doh* - play your QT movie (.srt-file and QT-file same name and location) - open perian pref.pane while playing - uncheck and check "Load External Subtitles" - quit QT movie an open it again - SUBS are back!! ;)) so it works for me - hope it helps ;)

same problem here: Quick Time 7.6 and latest Perian (1.1.3) but no subtitles (.srt) on the screen.
Subs and movie are at the same location and have the same name. "Load external Subs" is activated in Perian.
VLC player shows the subs.
