Okay so i 'installed' it it took like a milli second and now it just sits on my desktop doing nada nothing at all...is this a virus? or is there a trick to actually making it do something.....i was told to use this for macs to convert files from avi to mp4....i Hey, confused, I had the same problem...

You open the files with any app that uses QuickTime. QuickTime Player will do, or my favorite, NicePlayer . Thanks, gbooker. I think I'm getting the idea. It sort of kicked in when I read on the NicePlayer FAQ, "Anything that doesn't play in Apple's DVD Player won't play in NicePlayer either (...

I see Perian right there in my System Prefs. The "General" window confirms that it's installed, and the "About Perian" window shows me all the formats it'll support. Wonderful. So how do I "PLAY" any files? With all other audio/video players, sure, I drag the file onto ...
