Another idea is to just make it a harder to hit sequence. Option Shift instead of just Option? I just have Adium always bring up that dialog box, personally. I don't really need super easy access to it via a key command.

To accept aim:goim? URLs, we need to set ourselves as the preferred target for the URLs. The problem, I believe, is with iChat. It doesn't set itself as the preferred target for these URLs. However, this is just a guess.

Adium has lots and lots of hidden powers, apparently.

Adium's source code comes with multiple import scripts and programs. I think someone has put these online somewhere, so you don't have to download the source (which is really easy! check out http://adiumx.com/development.php ).

They're actually the Carbon equivalent, but the point is that it's implemented using windows at the desktop level. I just thought it was cool, that's all

Sounds interesting. Xtras are already packaged fairly standardly. The formats vary (tgz, tbz, zip, sit), but some sort of standard could be enforced. I'm not really sure why this is totally necessary though. Just double-click the downloaded file and it's installed. Is downloading it really that much...
