gbooker: Regardless, we are not going to even attempt to diagnose if you have any other third party components installed. We've tracked too many bugs to them, especially DivX. I'm not trying to be picky, but if I've installed stuff you think causes problems perhaps your web page http://perian.org/#s...

I use Quicktime Pro 7.6.2 on Mac OS 10.5.7 with Perian 1.1.3. I followed the advice to remove obsolete QuickTime Components: FFusion, Xvid Delegate, 3ivX, DivX, XviD, msmpeg4v1, msmpeg4v2, AviImporter, EX_M4S2, and Casio AVI Importer.
