Thanks gbooker, I see now. As an example, I've moved the XviD plugin I had away, and now xvid videos show "Xvid (Perian)" instead of "Xvid". Also, I can see it's still slower than, say VLC. The same xvid video uses 25% cpu with perian and 16% with VLC. Is it a problem with QuickT...

Hi all, I'd like to know how to check which plugin is QuickTime using when playing a specific file, to see if it's actually using perian or another plugin instead.
