Thanks for replying, but I think I ended it shortly after that post. It seems changing my security question/answer stopped the bot from getting in, even though that only seems to be used for setting a new password (which never happened on me).

Thanks. Why did this happen though? Has it been using plaintext all along, and Adium’s settings changed in a version update or something? Or did the server suddenly stop supporting secure authentication? Also, is there any way to force it anyway? I’m not comfortable with sending passwords in plainte...

Recently, I’m getting a message when Adium 1.4b18 attempts to log into my Meebo account (using Jabber/XMPP) that it “requires plaintext authentication over an unencrypted connection.
