Re: Release candidate 2 is out
@sandstrom : yes, rc2 uses memory differently from rc1.
In particular, it will copy some pieces of data instead of simply referencing to them. But my tests show that it releases memory much more easily than RC1 ; used on a very long period, it will not increase memory usage, while RC1 does.

Re: How copy articles&paste to a folder for permanent storag
You can't.
But you can mark flagged these articles, and they will appear in the "Marked Articles" smart folder.
They won't also be deleted by auto-expiration ; you will need an action (deleting or unflagging) to delete them.

Does your former RSS reader support OPML export ? It is a common format for feeds lists, and Vienna as most RSS readers support it.

@slammer99uk : I could spot the display problem with certain fonts (for instance Lucida Sans, which differs from the default Lucida Grande), but I cannot spot any significant difference between RC1 and RC2 on this…

Re: Release candidate 2 is out
@slammer99uk : very strange, I cannot reproduce your problems. The spinning ball issue is particularly odd… Does it occur on a regular basis ? Does it also occur when all tabs (apart as the main one) are closed ? Just trying to guess if it is related to page rendering… You can also open Activity Mon...

Re: Release candidate 2 is out
@gla I don't have the hardware to test the GPU question. But it was already raised here . What is your hardware/OS X version situation ? My opinion is this depends mainly on what is displayed (as usual, Flash is a suspect…). Can you try to close all tabs and go to a mainly text feed, deactivate &quo...

Re: Sync Vienna with Android app
Search apps supporting one of the cloud services which are Vienna compatible. Here are a few I spotted, but haven't tested : - There is a unofficial The Old Reader dedicated app - There is an official Inoreader app - Amber RSS Reader claims to support Bazqux, FeedHQ, InoReader and The Old Reader. <h...

Re: Does not work under OS X Yosemite
Might not be directly related to Yosemite : I have tested recent builds of Vienna under a VirtualBox running Yosemite without noticeable problems.
Which version of Vienna did you test ? Did you try to trash your Preferences file ?

You did it right, but the information would be more useful if you select on the left : "Sample Perspective"->"Running Sample Times"
Do you have Internet plugins ? (in /Library/Internet Plugins and in ~/Library/Internet Plugins)

Re: appcast URL for vienna
My understanding is that appcasts can be built using a Sourceforge URL.
The Sourceforge repo for Vienna is http://sourceforge.net/projects/vienna-rss
Latest version can be downloaded at http://sourceforge.net/projects/vienna- ... t/download

Re: Handling OPDS catalogs
My test catalog at http://grumpy.gcsu.edu:8080/opds (Calibre server which supports the old Stanza version of OPDS) contains a number of *.ibooks and *.epub files and they are all listed with a Download button. When I tap on an *ibooks file in the catalog, I am asked whether I want it opened in iBoo...
