Do individual feeds show articles, when the "Unread articles" filter is activated ?

If you create a new smart folder using the same definition than the "Uneread Articles" one, do you notice any change ?

Double click on it, to check if its definition hasn't been changed.

You probably changed the "Open links in background" settings in Preferences.

You can use the right-click menu "Open Article Page" (or its equivalent on the menubar).

This behavior is fixed in recent 3.0 Betas

May be you have an open tab which automatically launches this download ?

When you relaunch Vienna, this tab gets reloaded, and the download is triggered.
In case of doubt, close all tabs, except the main Articles tab.

I'll modify Vienna to handle possible extraneous linefeeds and spaces in date tags...

It probably isn't MacUpdate : it has much more posts than the few you spotted.

Can you switch to manual refresh, then refresh feeds individually to spot a problematic one ? (right click on each feed in the left panel)
