Re: 3.0b.2821 is out

Technically, it's legal (Apache license).

Ethically, it's not advisable...

Re: [BUG] Incorrect use of %d -> db corruption or crash?

I tried to replace %d with %ld, but some behaviors changed after that... I had to revert it back.
It might be linked to the fact that Vienna is storing booleans by representing them with integers in the database...
Any idea on doing it right ?

I suppose you are on Mountain Lion...

The settings are in Apple's Control Panel -> Notifications

Re: open links in background/external browser

I wasn't able to reproduce your problem...

May be your preferences file is corrupted ? Try trashing ~/Library/Preferences/uk.co.opencommunity.vienna2.plist

Re: Vienna oDesk Feed Bug

Nothing similar here for the feed you listed in your first message...
Try relaunching Vienna.

If the issue persist, use "Show XML source" for one of the problematic sources, and send me the content... barijaona at gmail com

Re: [BUG] Incorrect use of %d -> db corruption or crash?

Thanks for the observation.

After another quick look at the code, I think it shouldn't be an issue, because data passed are small integers, like folder's id.
But I will patch it anyway. Thanks again for your attention.

Re: Database fried

In the Finder, use the Go to Folder... menu item, type ~/Library and click OK.

Then drag the folder to Finder's lateral bar.

Note to developers : it might be a good idea to insert a direct access to this reindex function in a future version of Vienna...

Re: Not updating

I am afraid you have a database problem... Try anyway removing the preferences file... If it does not work, try this : http://www.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=25000#p134816 As a last resort, you can try to export your subscriptions, move aside your messages.db, relaunch Vienna and reimpor...

Re: 3.0b.2821 is out

Thank you David. Much appreciated. I got involved in Vienna for two reasons : - a challenge for learning Cocoa - to try to improve my most used app. If it can be useful for others, it's fine. By the way, did you see this ? http://appshopper.com/mac/news/rss-toaster . It seems it is a rebranded Vienn...

Re: upgrade destroyed all subscriptions

I understand you were already on a 3.0 beta version, probably build 2820. I doubt the problem you encounter is directly related to the upgrade. Nothing has really changed between 2820 and 2821 regarding database use and logic... Can you try the solution I suggest here : http://www.cocoaforge.com/vie...

Re: Bug: Closed unexpectedly now subscriptions and folders

Hello,

To which Vienna version are you referring ? 2.6 or 3.0beta ?

I am afraid your database has a problem.

You can either :
- delete the file ~/Library/Application Support/Vienna/message.db
- try the procedure described here : http://www.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=25000

Re: Database fried

You might try this : - Download SQLite Database Browser, a free utility http://sqlitebrowser.sourceforge.net - For safety, backup first messages.db - Open SQLite Database Browser, navigate to messages.db and open it - select the "Execute SQL" tab - in the SQL string entry, type "REIND...
