I've never experienced the sound notification. Is this brand new? Weird Ugh, you know what? I wonder if it's actually Growl that's making the annoying noise. I hadn't even considered that. That would certainly explain why I couldn't find the option to turn it off in Vienna. I'm away from the comput...

Is it possible to turn off (or change) the alert sound notification? I changed the "When new articles are fetched" option to "Do Nothing", but it still plays the sound. Is there another way to do this that I'm missing?
