YEEAAAAH! I've updated my copy of Adium to 0.88 and now it updates display pictures instantly. Other issues related to MSN were fixed, I'm fuckin' happy.

The custom size for MSN display pictures is 96x96 pixels, and that's the size Adium shows you the images. Adium used to allow it, but it produced errors. Seems the protocol will only allow chatting while invisible if you've been previously chatting to someone while visible - and you both still have the chat window open. Humm, it makes sense to me. I just tested and it works following these steps: open Adium, connect to MSN as anything but invisible, chat with the person you like to and set your status as invisible; you'll be able to continue chatting with him/her.
