Long term solution, yes, I agree this is a good idea. Short term. Go into netinfo manager, and then add an entry for conference.whatever or whatever hostname you want pointing at the conference room server. What's wrong with Cmd-semicolon? It goes through and highlights the first misspelled word it comes to.
