AFAIK Candybar doesnt change the position of icons. I don't understand why the icons revert to an unwanted position on startup though.

My solution for the problem was to just give them an alias. Though it would be appreciated if Adium could ignore or obey these style codes.

Try this:
Preferences -> Accounts -> *Your account* -> Privacy and then the Typing option

To do this you must first choose "Sort by status"

To make Adium events work with growl you have to set up your Events Preferences (Which can be found in Adium's preferences). Create a growl notification for the events you want, and they should show up.

OTR (Off the record) is a standard for of encryption, and Adium uses this. But i have no idea if it works with other clients.

When you would use it : When giving someone restricted information such as business information of bank details. Why? : Because otherwise a hacker could "listen in" to your conversation and learn some juicy details. Why not? : It is not necessary for day to day use as hackers are unlikely...

To send a file in Adium Right click (or control click) on their name and choose Send File.

Ah whoops sorry. It used to wortk for me, but i can't seem to remember how. Sorry about that!

For me this is what happens: It copies the text and reformats it into my default messaging text, but with a black colour. Bold, italics etc should be your default font for messages.

When Adium claims to be a multi-protocol messenger, it means it supports MSN people to talk to MSN buddies, and ICQ people to ICQ buddies. It does not support interoperability (talking from one protocol to another). Hope it clears things up.
