I think I figured out what was wrong. Except perhaps nothing is 'wrong'. I was trying to apply the notification to a metacontact. Apparently, I need to disable metacontacts, apply the notification to each individual contact and then re-enable metacontacts. Now the notification sticks betweeen relaun...

Re: Used to be slow
That's what I think.The_Tick wrote: If it's not slow anymore, and you didn't do anything with Growl, then it's not Growl that slowed it down.
Here's a question to all those with problems: What version of OS X are you running and, did you upgrade to Tiger or do a clean install?

Used to be slow
Alright, so let me see if I can say this coherently. (It's late and I'm tired.) 12-inch PowerBook, 1.33 Ghz G4, 512 MB RAM, 60g HD. This was my configuration a few weeks ago, and I used to have a really, really slow startup. As in a three, maybe four minutes of wait time from the startup sound. Then...

Random Oblique Strategy
I just put together an applescript with bits and pieces from all over the place (credit given in readme) to display a random Oblique Strategy using Growl.
I don't know if anyone will find it useful, but I thought I'd share anyway.
Enjoy.

Notification Levels by Status
Just thought I'd suggest this... Haven't seen it discussed before from what I can remember. I know there's already an implementation of different colours for different levels of alerts: low, normal, emergency, etc. It would be kind of cool if you could also set a system wide status for how often/abo...

Status and Events
I guess this could become pretty complicated, but I'd love an option to automatically change the way Event messages (i.e. "Contact came online".) are displayed depending on Status. For example, Status: DND Events: No Sounds, No Messages Status: Busy Events: No Sounds, Only Contact Online/O...

New Style Suggestions
I hope this is the right place to be doing this... I'd like to suggest two new display styles. I tried making them using the css/html method, but I think they need to be written in Objective-C. 1. Fullscreen To be used for situations where it is very important that an app get your attention. I guess...
