I think the idea of always having a scrollbar is good, but leaving it as an option should be considered. If I were to use transparency on my message view, I would probably leave it at 75 or 80% opacity, so the window would seem sufficiently connected. I wouldn't complain too much if this wasn't left...

I can't seem to reproduce this. Lemme double check to make sure I'm understanding you correctly. You minimize the message window to the dock, and when you click it to bring it back up, it's on a different tab than it was before?

The only Unsanity product that I use is ClearDock (with APE, obviously). It's small, it's free, it doesn't cause any problems, and it makes my dock match my contact list fairly well

When you create a group, it starts with no contacts in it. Thus, it will not show up. To see it, go to View > Show Offline Contacts. This will cause your empty group to show up.
