Does this mean a fixed version of Urbn and Eclipse will be released soon?

This ticket sort of addresses that issue. I don't believe this function currently exists in Adium, and I do not know what the devs' plans are concerning it.

I think I'm actually going to side with Tick on this one. The only time when it seems necessary for a warning is when there is actually something to be lost, such as quitting Pages without saving your document.

Adium > Preferences > Log Messages

Now I don't know about you, but when an application isn't behaving the way I want it to, the first thing I do is check the preferences to see if I can get it to behave the way I want. But that's just me

I'm not sure about the first one, but as for the second, clicking the link just installs the packs. You still need to choose them in the preferences. This is in Adium > Preferences > Appearance.

Great! Now just keep in mind that you can't use ES within Adium with that plugin turned off, in case you ever wanted to.

Here's what I would try:

Close Adium
Get info on Adium.app
Expand the Plug-ins section if it's not already
Uncheck Latex Plugin.AdiumPlugin
Start Adium

See if that prevents Equation Service from launching when Adium opens.

Hello. What protocol are you referring to? As far as I know, most of the protocols do not support that sort of privacy setting, except for MSN which requires authorization when someone adds you to their buddy list. I could be wrong, though.
