It looks like regular iTunes, but the buttons have been altered by whatever ShapeShifter theme he's using.

You could try writing an applescript that tests whether or not a tab is open, then find a way to send a growl notification if it is.

There's "Hide while Adium is in background" in Preferences > Advanced > Contact list, if that's what you mean.

(This is where it is in the beta - is it the same in .77?)

Looks like a live radio feed to me. A lot of online radio feeds are done with real player.

Yeah, I use a pretty large contact list, so the custom icons that I made are 26x26, as opposed to the 13x13 size of the default gems. I also made my tab icons a little bit larger so they fill up the entire height of the tab.

There are people here using first-gen iMacs, so your computer isn't that old :)

There might be something with proxies, but I'm not a dev of Adium so I wouldn't know how much they would affect this sort of thing.

Well, obviously, you don't have a stable system and it doesn't work fine. Honestly, I've noticed performance enhancements with the incremental upgrades, and there should be no problems with them, especially if you repair permissions and close all unnecessary applications before installing the upgrade.

The status system will be greatly improved in 0.8.

Support for what you're suggesting is mentioned in the thread at the top with the words "READ FIRST" in capital letters at the beginning.
