Well, I meant crappy in comparison to the competition. A mac mini isn't crappy overall, but it is compared to, say, a G5 tower.

Hold shift while dragging. I don't remember if this works in 0.77, but I know it does it 0.8b5. Also, just because other aqua apps don't do it doesn't mean it's a bad thing ;)

I didn't like these changes at first either, simply because it was not what I was used to doing. But, after sitting and thinking about it, I realized that the new setup is slightly more intuitive (for me) if I let myself forget about my previous habits and look at the situation purely from a pro-con...

iAlert

I just saw a link in Apple's downloads for iAlert, which seems to be a crappy imitation of Growl. I also noticed that only Growl 0.5 is posted on Apple's downloads. Perhaps it's time for an update?

This feature wouldn't stop anybody from reading your messages while you're away if they wanted to. Screen saver passwords and fast user switching does.

If the messaging protocols supported emoting, it would be awesome :)

I personally like the way /me acts now. It's the same command as is used to emote in IRC and bnet chatrooms (as well as other chatrooms, most likely). Example, if I type the following into IRC or bnet, /me jumps up and down it would appear sort of like: - TheSilverFox06 jumps up and down - The only...

My experience is that it always does send links. Perhaps there is a bug that I am unaware of.

I agree with everything except the security issue. It IS a lot harder to make a virus capable of doing things that Windows viruses do, and to get them running on Mac OS X, even if you wanted to. The system as a whole is a ton more secure, and really the only way to get a virus of that sort to work o...

Sorry Tick, but I'm starting to get really tired of dealing with all of the calls at work from Windows users that have problems that would never happen on a competent system, whether it be OS X, Linux, or otherwise.

Why would you need this functionality on top of the "automatically connect on launch" option? Just have your 4 regular accounts connect on launch, then manage the others manually from there, if you ever need to use them.

In-Depth answer: do a forum search, and you'll find this is pretty well covered already. Never saw it before… and I read all of these threads personally, unless they're before 12/03/04 Use Gaim , the "brother" of Adium for Linux/Windows. Actually, this has been discussed before. But yeah,...

Whatever theme that is, it's way to Windows-y for my liking. The clickboxes in the windows have exactly the same symbols.
