Contacts on multiple accounts not showing in Contact List

For example: MSN account one has a load of contacts added months ago. Another MSN account is created intended to focus on a handful of these for work stuff, and so a few of the same contacts from account one are added again to the second. They don't show up unless account one is online - and the Get...

Message Cutoff

Apologies if this has been asked, a quick search found nothing.

Is it possible to specify a message cutoff ala X-Chat? I find I have to reopen message windows after lengthy conversations as it starts to slow down considerably.

How strange! As i'm sure you noticed whilst playing around, Smoke isn't one of the styles that allows a custom position (at least not in it's setup page). As you imply, this isn't normal - perhaps a bug - if not already mentioned in the trac page, might be worth bringing to attention. Anyway, welcom...

Which style notification are you using?

Not all types allow you to choose a custom position.

Similar to removing all Growl related goodness, 3-5 seconds (vs 2+ minutes)

I've come to the conclusion that it's Hardware Growler causing the delay. Removing GrowlHelperApp or GrowlTunes has no effect, yet HWGrowler does.

I assumed you meant all Growl related items.. after removing them, 'time until usable desktop' is down from 2 minutes to 5 seconds.

1) How much time is "slow"? Slow is a relative term, meaning that someone could think 30 seconds is slow, someone else 3 seconds, and another person 20 hours. 2 minutes + 2) What operating system are you using? 10.4.6 Clean, 6 month old laptop (ie HD is in perfect nick) 3) What version of ...

I would have to assume he's inputting the address wrong in his FTP client/connect box.

Of course, you know what they say about assumption being the mother of all f ups.. ;)

Ensure he's using the right info, settings, etc, compare his setup to that of your other users, perhaps.

ditto

hi mike, exactly the same problem here - changing from active to passive doesn't seem to 'stick', and is reset to active upon reinspection of the settings.

Same problem with Transmit, except the option within that is greyed out completely if attempting to use any method other than standard FTP.

hah so it's pretty safe to say a fair percentage, if not all, users experience these problems.

so can anyone shed any light on whether it's here to stay, or if there are plans to help minimalise it during further development?

Woooops

Oh, perhaps i was too quick to assume, sorry if so! Yep good point about the other services making it an unfair test. I guess all I'd really like to know, is whether 1) Everyone has a fairly lengthy pause during login whilst waiting for a usable desktop, and 2) Whether it's possible to improve said ...

funny guy, didn't feel like submitting anything about your startup time then?

Perhaps directions on how to find such things, which log, etc, would've been more helpful than that sarcastic attempt. I had a peek in Console, and don't know where to look.

Overall Startup Time

Hi all, Out of mere curiosity, what is the average effect on startup time for Growl users here? At the moment, i have the following set to start at login, and have to wait more than 2 minutes for a usable desktop to be presented after logging in. GrowlTunes Hardware Growler Growl Helper App Running ...

Status Levels

Ah, that's a bit of a shame in a way; whilst I don't use status levels for their intended purpose, the feature comes in handy if I want to differentiate between two Applications using the same scheme. In example, I use the Bubbles scheme for both Automator notifications (black text on white backgrou...
