Unfortunately, I suspect this will be largely ignored, based on this other one I found:

Editing a message style seems to be an awfully obtuse way to do something that every other chat program I've ever used has in the prefs panel

If so, that's unfortunate.

Is there a way to hide the display of other people's Away and Return messages in a chat window? I looked around but couldn't see anything.
