yeah, aim/iChat works great cross platform. i do webcam with pc users pretty often with iChat. just make sure your girlfriend has windows xp.

how bout for winks and nudges instead of it playing an animation over your display or shaking the screen you just get a notification in the message window? that way at least you know they sent you one.
