I don't know what the French translation calls it, but there should be an option in that Afficher dropdown menu. Credit goes to The_Tick for finding that (we met today to fix a Growl-related problem I had been having).

Might I suggest Reikon's AiTC . For controlling iTunes, I just use Butler. F1 = play/pause F2 = previous track F3 = next track F4 = AppleScript to eject iPod System-wide and easily accessible, without the need for something clogging my menubar. As for showing others what I'm playing, I use iTunes-i...

I suggest that you explore http://www.adiumxtras.com There are scripts there that do exactly what you want, and there are many other nice add-ons you might like.

PS- iChat is not .Mac only. It supports AIM/.Mac and Jabber/Bonjour. The only real difference between AIM and .Mac is the username.

eBay owns Skype. Maybe Skype supports text based messaging. I don't use it, so I don't know.

Having GrowlHelperApp in your login items is what causes Growl to start at login, so don't delete it.

Write an applescript .AdiumScript (see adiumxtras.com for examples, and its support page for the link to the wiki page documenting the bundle) that generates your autoreply; set its trigger as your autoreply message. Doesn't the autoreply only happen once in a given conversation, though? If he want...

There talking about Jabber. *sigh*

Burn this one into your brains folks and DON'T get your hopes incorrectly up and put undue expectations on our SoC students.

I knew they were talking about Jabber and not AIM/iChat. It's still cool.

More like voice isn't it? :|

They said "Voice chat, and eventually video chat..." That's perfectly fine with me personally. I would like voice but am indifferent about video because I wouldn't ever use it.

I actually read the blog post before I saw this thread, and my jaw dropped. I rarely use iChat, but when I do it's for reliable file transfer (my biggest problem with Adium) and/or audio chat. The first is of course coming with 1.0. Combine where Adium is already with 0.89.1 (Mac-like, multiprotocol...

"Good luck" in terms of acknowledgement that you had good luck, not in the way we normally use the phrase to mean 'may you have good luck'. See... This is why I like the Adium project. Not only do we get a great IM client, that is constantly being updated, but we get cultured as well! Free y...

Macskeeball: you have 4 people on your list? 4 people online . Years ago when I used iChat, I used to have hundreds of people in my list and I went over AIM's limit several times. However, it was rather silly to have all of those people in my list. The point of using the list (as opposed to manuall...
