2 field would be good :) 1 for local alias, 1 for friendly name friendly name will get the name from the server when u are connected to the server So everytime you connected to msn, the friendly name in the adium will updated from the server, but not the local alias. you can change the friendly name...

um, when I use adium, my nickname will be blahblah@mac.
when I use gaim online, the nickname I set before in gaim will lose and it will change to blahblah@mac
