Find the following folders/files located in <your home folder>/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Users/Default/libgaim/:
• blist.xml
• icons (folder)

Trash these and restart Adium... see if that makes a difference.

Pretty sure there isn't. That way is *supposed* to work. If you quit and restart Adium, what icon do you get? I'm assuming you know that it's not changing because you have yourself added to your contact list. Which makes me wonder, is the entity on the contact list that represents you on your contac...

Be warned, ShapeShifter and other haxies are notorious for creating all sorts of problems. If suddenly an application on your Mac dies then that's most probably what's happened.

At WWDC, Apple said the majority of the crash reports they receive are caused by haxies and things like that.
