Yep, now: 1) Quit Adium. 2) Double click a contact on your contacts list. 3) Type a message. 4) Send the message. 5) Notice that the message you sent does not appear in the WebKitMessageView as the big font that you used earlier? Or is it me? I haven't not clicked the "text display" button...

Perhaps I should have been more specific. The problem I can confirm is that you cannot change the font of your outgoing messages.

Changing the colour of the fonts works great, as demonstrated adequately by Adam. A user of Adium cannot specify the font they want to send their messages in.

I too can confirm this is a problem. Perhaps there could be an easier way of customising the font and colour of one's outgoing messages. For example, if the options were placed in the "Appearance" or "Messages" toolbar preference items, that would make much more sense (and it wou...

Ok, I double checked the preferences - I should have the following items checked:
1) Show received message fonts
2) Show received message colors

I didn't have these checked and maybe this is why it was not working.

None of the messages I receive from my buddies are formatted the way they have customised them. I'm not sure if it's my message style I'm using but none of the others seem to use the formatting my buddies specify.

I double checked this using the official MSN Messenger client.

Format of messages received

Hi guys...

I'm wondering whether gaim or adium specifically overrides (or doesn't receive) the custom formatting of the messages I receive when talking to buddies on MSN messenger.

Or has it got something to do with the message style I'm using (Smooth Operator).

Thanks,

Kiel :-)

Re: Just trying to get help, not a cold shoulder

I checked Trac. I've been using adium for about a year now, and I've been following the development and paying attention to everyone's "RTFM before you bug us" posts. I couldn't find anything, so I figured I'd try and see if someone could help. So much for being able to ask questions and ...

Maybe you could try deleting your account in Adium and try it again. See if that helps.

Apple's best selling Macs were laptops - AMD don't compete with Intel in terms of performance when it comes to laptops.

FYI, next day after Head Honcho Steve delivered the shocker, Apple Developer Connection had made available XCode 2.1, which is now capable of producing "Universal Binaries", that live in both worlds. For the truly geeky out there, 2.1 now uses a customized GCC 4.0 as the default compiler....

The steps backward from 64 bit to 32 bit argument is a very good one. That is, unless they support AMD processors (which I REALLY hope they do). In being able to run Mac OS on x86 architecture Apple will lose some of their deep users. Apple will no longer have one of it's core values: beauty. No on...

I tried using the Adium 0.81 source and I still get the same problem. In Adium.pch it pulls up on this line: #import <AIUtilities/AIStringUtilities.h> //Everybody should be localizing their strings And says something along the lines of: File or directory does not exist. I followed the directions spe...

Where can I ask development related question?

Hiya all, I have a question about making plugins for Adium. Where is the appropriate place to ask this? My question is about including frameworks into my target - how does one do it? I tried dragging and dropping Adium.framework and ADiumUtilities but the build won't compile - a certain file referre...
