Canada? Australia? What about the most important nation of all, with arguably the biggest alcohol problem amongst its youth?

Have to say, I agree. Something about that emoticon icon seems threatening! :D

I love the photograph though...

The_Tick wrote:Because when it does break, people assume it is adium, and not the message view, which is causing the problem. Which, from their point of view, it certainly is adium causing the problem.
Point taken.

We know - but iChat is non-standard, and is all the better for it, in this instance.

Hehe. It would be cool, though entirely useless for 90% of Adium users :)

Why do you say that, The_Tick? There are a lot of people out there who like it, even though I know it's not to your taste :)

And yes, I know it leads to problems like we've had recently - but I've always included a non-smooth-scrolling version, too.

There seems to be something wrong with MSN7, in that when the window is minimised it reports it as closed. I didn't think the official MSN client showed/logged the closing of windows, though.

Bah. Show me up why don't you :P

Looks good.

[edit] Appears to be a bug, in that the user pictures don't have a rounded corner in that movie - though I'm guessing that's a known issue.

I think it matches brilliantly, and the decision to have different coloured messages suits the style well. I'm not sure if it will be my style of choice, but the hard work that's gone/going into it is blatant.

Incidentally, when do we see a screenshot instead of the mockup? :)

The first will be dealt with for 0.8 (there's a beta running). The second issue has been requested before, I can't remember the answer. Use the "search" button at the top :)

Ok, I actually tried it out, instead of assuming it would look how it did in the preview (which was dumb) - I'll fix it tonight, hopefully.

I've had a look, and it's actually fine on my 10.3.9 install, so that teaches me not to jump to conclusions. I wouldn't have thought either of those two programs was interfering with webkit, though it's possible Suitcase does I suppose. Try reinstalling Retro - the easiest way is probably just to do...

Bah, looks like another 10.3.9 rendering issue - this happen after you upgraded your OS?

Do you like it enough for me to try to fix it? ;)

It's definitely that .plist, I just wasn't entirely sure of the wording of the key. So between us, we're bound to be right ;)

Someone in this forum uses the signature, "It's not a bug, it's an undocumented feature."

Sounds like that kind of feature to me :D

I believe , although I could be wrong, that you just need to add two lines into the relevant .plist with your text editor du jour. <key>DisableCombineConsecutive</key> <true/> That goes in the .plist file of the message view - find it by control-clicking and choosing "show package contents"...
